We calculated the margin for DraftKings by analysing the odds they offer and placed them into one of the following three categories:

From 1% to 5%: Good value

Over 5% to 7%: Average value

Over 7% to 10%: Poor value

Football

We’re getting our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the total goals scored for different football leagues. By getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and also the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.

DraftKings has an overall margin of 3.75% for football and falls in the good value category. In the first section using odds from the Premier League, the margin is at 3.32%. The second section with Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A, the margin is at 2.94%. Finally, by counting the English Football League One, Austrian Bundesliga and Polish Ekstraklasa into account, the margin is at 4.99%.

DraftKings offers a decent variety of betting markets, covering the most popular sports in a professional way. Due to the fact that DraftKings is a US-based bookmaker, they have a great coverage of the American sports such American football, basketball, baseball, ice hockey, but also an impressive depth for the popular sports in Europe like football, tennis, cricket, rugby, etc. Ireland was the place where DraftKings launched its first internationally licensed sportsbook and this only means that they are focusing on what the Irish bettors need.

Football betting

Football is the most popular sport in Ireland, but people also like to place a cheeky bet on the local mainstream sports including hurling and Gaelic football. The football section is pretty impressive as it includes the elite European competitions like the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, German Bundesliga as well as obscure leagues like the Ukrainian Premier League or the Austrian Bundesliga. The multitude of betting markets is fantastic, especially in the main leagues. For example, a typical Premier League match has over 125 betting options available including Asian Handicap, 3-way Handicap, Multi-Goals Home and Away Team, Halves Goals Combo, etc.

American sports

Although DraftKings have been in the Irish betting industry for a while now, they haven’t introduced Horse Racing within their betting offer. However, they do have a great coverage for American sports including American football, baseball, basketball and ice hockey. The American leagues like NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL are very well covered with more than 40 betting lines for each match. Customers can wager on different markets such as point spread, moneyline, winning margin, total runs, first to score and many more.

The odds quality is different for each league, for example the NBA and MLB have some great moneylines value while they offer lower odds than other bookmakers for NHL.

Betting limits: The limits are more than adequate for the vast majority of bettors. In addition, the users are able to set their own deposit, loss, session and wagering limits via the Responsible Gambling menu.

The In-play section can be accessed straight from the homepage by clicking on the ‘Live’ button. The live events are listed by categories and for the main competitions there is an icon that will display the fast markets. At the moment of writing this review, DraftKings had over 15 live tennis matches from the ATP Monte Carlos Masters. There were over 40 betting markets available for each fixture, including the so-called ‘Fast Markets’ that allow customers to place bets in a much faster manner.

Unfortunately, DraftKings doesn’t offer live streaming service to its customers and we’re not sure they’re willing to introduce it in the near future.
