Odds — normal

We calculated the margin for Gamebookers by analysing the odds they offer and placed them into one of the following three categories:

From 1% to 5%: Good value

Over 5% to 7%: Average value

Over 7% to 10%: Poor value

Football

We’re getting our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the total goals scored for different football leagues. By getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and also the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.

Gamebookers has an overall margin of 6.36% for football and falls in the average value category. In the first section using odds from the Premier League, the margin is at 5.84%. The second section with Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A, the margin is at 6.43%. Finally, by counting the English Football League One and Polish Ekstraklasa into account, the margin is at 6.79%.

Betting options — good

Being one of the oldest bookmakers in the industry, Gamebookers have a wide range of sports listed on their website. At the moment, they are covering over 34 disciplines, starting with the popular sports like football, tennis, basketball, to politics, or entertainment markets. They actually compete with the top competitors in the industry for the number of International events they cover.

Football betting

As you expected, football is clearly the most popular sport at Gamebookers, especially that they are a long established UK bookmaker. There are over 50 countries available on the football page and each of them includes at least one competition. For the major leagues from Europe and even for the MLS, Gamebookers have over 170 different betting markets available, meaning that the punters are able to bet on a variety of options. Every football match can be found in the statistics centre where customers can check the team’s recent form, league standings, head-to-head results and so on.

When it comes to the odds quality for football events, it has to be said that Gamebookers don’t offer such competitive odds as the other top bookmakers. However, it seems that they offer decent value for the American sports, especially in the NBA basketball league.

Tennis & other sports

It came as a surprise to find out that Gamebookers doesn’t have a horse racing section given the fact that they’re mostly focusing on the UK market. They have recently introduced eSports within their betting offer, which is a big plus due to the fact that more and more people like to wager on these events.

Gamebookers also has excellent coverage of tennis, providing outright odds for the upcoming major tournaments such as French Open, US Open, Wimbledon, etc. At the moment of writing this review, there are plenty of tennis matches from the Monte Carlo ATP Masters 1000 with over 25 betting markets for each event.

Betting limits: The limits offered by Gamebookers aren’t great as players can earn as much as £200,000 per week.

In-play — good

The In-play section can be found at the top left hand side of the page and it must be said that we have been surprised by the multitude of live events available. This section covers a wide range of sports like football, tennis, basketball, volleyball and sometimes even sky jumping. Each event comes with a beautiful 3D animation pitch that will show the live action from that specific match as well as a bunch of useful stats like team possession, cards or corners info, etc.

There is also live streaming of some events available across several sports like football, tennis, volleyball, ice hockey and many more. However, the football live streaming only applies to a few countries such as Romania, Austria, Russia, Sweden, etc.

About the bookmaker
