All reviewsReview of the bookmaker Bwin from Legalbet
Bwin was formed as “BetAndWin” in Austria but has transformed since then, mainly through the 2011 merger with PartyGaming making it an all-round, truly global, gambling entity. They have 20 million registered customers in 25 core markets.
Bwin (originally BetAndWin) is a bookmaker with European roots, founded as told in Austria. They are pushing into the UK market but still focus mainly on European sports.
Odds - Average
We calculated the margin for Bwin by analysing the odds they offer. We further ranked them in one of the following three categories:
From 1% to 5%: Good value
Over 5% to 7%: Average value
Over 7% to 10%: Poor value
Football
We’re getting our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the total goals scored for different football leagues. By getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and also the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.
Bwin has an overall margin of 6.34% for football and falls in the average value category. In the first section using odds from the Premier League, the margin is at 5.72%. The second section with Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A, the margin is at 6.50%. Finally, by counting the English Football League One, Austrian Bundesliga and Polish Ekstraklasa, the margin is at 6.81%.
Range of Sports and Markets - Average
Range of Sports: There is a very wide list of sports, including some that are rarely seen elsewhere such as Nascar, Nordic Combined and Triathlon. The sports we must say are more focused on European and US players rather than the ones coming from UK and Ireland. The most significant missing from Bwin’s list of sports is definitely the Horse Racing.
Range of Bets and Markets: There is also a wide range of markets offered for each sport. For example, UK football betting is not limited on the Premier League only, but goes right down to the 7th level of English football, with matches such as “Blackfield and Langley vs Tiverton” of the Southern League being available. In the lower leagues, there are just the final result and the totals to choose from but in the Premier League and the Champions League, matches are offered with more than 100 different markets to choose from, which is amongst the highest in the business.
Betting Odds and Limits: The odds at Bwin are not among the best available. Although they are not the worst either, there is definitely space for improvement. The limits are level with the industry standards, and there’s the nice feature of the maximum amount you can place on a bet being displayed on the bet slip.
In-Play Betting - Good
Bwin’s live betting is one of its best features and certainly one of the things that retains its loyal customer base. It specialises in European football - without leaving other sports behind - with a huge range of markets and odds flashing changes as the game goes on.
There are so many live matches available all day long, something that obviously depends on which time zone you are in too. Many of them are being streamed live and you may watch them as long as you have a funded account or have placed a bet on them.
The in-play betting experience is overall one of the best out there and it’s constantly evolving, making it clear that it’s and will be one of the company’s priorities.
