The Matchday 15 Ligue 1 fixture between PSG and Rennes will take place on December 6 at the Parc des Princes in Paris. PSG – Rennes: prediction and betting odds, statistics.
PSG
The capital club travelled to Monaco in the last round and suffered their second defeat of the current Ligue 1 campaign (0-1). Previously Paris lost to Marseille by the same scoreline. It was only in those matches that the team failed to register a shot on target after a run of 34 league fixtures with at least one. As a result, PSG's eight-match unbeaten run in Ligue 1 (5 wins and 3 draws) came to an end. Luis Enrique's side have relinquished top spot to Lens and now trail them by one point.
- No more than three goals were scored in 9 of PSG's last 11 league matches.
- At home PSG have won 6 of their last 7 Ligue 1 matches (1 draw).
- The club kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 6 home league games.
Predicted PSG lineup (4-3-3)
Luca Chevalier – Marquinhos, Lucas Hernandez, Wiliam Pacho, Warren Zaire-Emery – Joao Neves, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz – Lee Kang-in, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Senny Meulou.
Defenders Lucas Baraldo, Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi are out with injuries. Goalkeeper Luca Chevalier is unlikely to play due to a minor knock, so Matvei Safonov may start in goal. Forward Désiré Doué has recovered from injury.
Rennes
Habib Beye's side are unbeaten in the league in five matches, winning each of their last four. Interestingly, during that run they recorded a 4-1 home win and secured narrow 1-0 victories away. Rennes have climbed to fifth in the table and are now two points shy of the Champions League places. The team has only two defeats in the league so far, the same as PSG — the fewest in the division.
- In their previous 12 league matches the club suffered just 1 defeat (5 wins and 6 draws).
- Both teams scored in 6 of Rennes' last 8 Ligue 1 games.
- At least three goals were scored in 6 of Rennes' last 8 league matches.
Predicted Rennes lineup (3-4-3)
Brice Samba – Jeremy Jaque, Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal, Lilian Brassier – Jahoui Cissé, Przemyslaw Frankowski, Mahdi Camara, Valentin Rongier – Mousa Al-Tamari, Breel Embolo, Esteban Lepol.
Midfielder Seko Fofana is doubtful due to injury.

Match prediction PSG – Rennes
PSG face a difficult test and I disagree with bookmakers who make the home side such strong favourites. In their last game PSG lost to Monaco (0-1), a team that the previous round had been beaten 4-1 by Rennes. The visitors are in very good form and are steadily closing in on the top group. Rennes' position near the top owes much to the number of draws they recorded earlier in the season rather than a lack of quality.
I believe a sensible betting option is to back Rennes with a positive handicap. Rennes haven't lost by two or more goals in their last 12 Ligue 1 matches, whereas PSG have recorded only two wins by a margin of two or more goals in their last eight league games. Additionally, PSG have not delivered convincing victories in 3 of the last 4 head-to-heads at this stadium in Ligue 1.
My prediction – Rennes with a +1.5 handicap
