The Serie A round 25 match between Lazio and Atalanta will take place on 14 February at the Olimpico in Rome. Lazio vs Atalanta: prediction, betting odds and statistics.
Lazio
Lazio managed to take points away at Juventus last round (2:2). However, Maurizio Sarri’s men have just two wins in their last nine league matches (five draws, two defeats). It is worth noting that in four games during that run the team failed to score at all. Overall, Lazio have 26 goals, which is the lowest attacking tally among the teams in the top half of the standings. In addition, in five of their last seven Serie A matches the club have conceded at least twice. In the main table, the Rome side sit eighth, eight points adrift of the European places.
- Lazio have not scored more than once in nine of their previous 12 league games.
- On their own ground, the team have not won five of their last six Serie A matches (three draws, two defeats).
- The club have conceded in five of their last six home games in this competition.
Potential Lazio Lineup (4-5-1)*
Ivan Provedel – Adam Marusic, Nuno Tavares, Mario Gila, Oliver Provstgaard – Toma Basic, Kenneth Taylor, Daniel Maldini, Gustav Isaksen, Danilo Cataldi – Pedro.
Defender Samuel Gigot and midfielder Mattia Zaccagni will miss out through injury. Defender Alessio Romagnoli is suspended.
Atalanta
Atalanta beat Cremonese 2:1 at home last round, and that victory was their fifth in the last seven league matches (two draws), with the goal conceded only their second in that period. Even so, in terms of defensive solidity, Raffaele Palladino’s side trail five opponents. In the main table, Atalanta are seventh, six points clear of their nearest challenger. It should also be added that away from home the team have scored just 12 of their 32 goals.
- No more than two goals have been scored in seven of the Bergamo club’s last nine Serie A games.
- On the road, the club have not won seven of their previous nine league matches (four draws, three defeats).
- Atalanta have not conceded more than once in 25 of their last 27 away matches in this competition.
Potential Atalanta Lineup (3-4-3)*
Marco Carnesecchi – Berat Djimsiti, Giorgio Scalvini, Sead Kolasinac – Nicola Zalewski, Mario Pasalic, Lazar Samardzic, Davide Zappacosta – Giacomo Raspadori, Ederson, Nikola Krstovic.

Lazio vs Atalanta: Match Prediction
During their seven-match unbeaten run in the league, the Bergamo side have conceded just two goals. What is more, the team allowed goals only against relegation battlers Pisa and Cremonese, with the latter scoring just moments before the final whistle. At the same time, they have managed to keep out far more illustrious opponents. Overall, this shows that it is very difficult to breach Atalanta’s defence at the moment. Raffaele Palladino’s men do score regularly, but they do not tend to produce goal fests, especially away from home. The club have not scored more than once in eight of their previous nine away Serie A matches.
The Rome side are also not exactly prolific. More than half of the teams in the league have a better goalscoring record. In their last five home league matches the club have scored five goals, but they all came in games against Genoa and Fiorentina, both of whom are closing in on 40 goals conceded. On the other hand, Lazio currently lack reliability at the back, but this upcoming match is very important in the fight for European qualification, so the hosts are likely to play with one eye on their own goal.
In the reverse fixture, the sides played out a goalless draw. It is hard to expect many goals this time either.
Prediction: Under 2.5 goals
