Aston Villa Form
Things have not looked this bad for Aston Villa since the very start of the season, when they went five straight league matches without a win. Now they are on a four-game winless run in the Premier League. It all began with a home draw against Leeds, followed by defeats to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Chelsea and Manchester United. Moreover, in every one of those losses Aston Villa were beaten by a margin of two or three goals. Even so, the club have managed to stay in the top four, while still holding a two-point cushion over their nearest chaser. Interestingly, in the Premier League nobody has suffered even two consecutive defeats heading into matchday 31, while Unai Emery's side have lost three in a row.
- In their last 10 league matches, the Birmingham side have recorded only two wins (three draws and five defeats).
- Aston Villa have not scored more than once in any of their last seven Premier League matches.
- At home, the club have only one win in their last five Premier League games (one draw and three defeats).
Potential Aston Villa Lineup (4-2-3-1)*
Emiliano Martinez – Ezri Konsa, Lucas Digne, Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings – Amadou Onana, Ross Barkley – Emiliano Buendia, John McGinn, Morgan Rogers – Ollie Watkins.
Due to injury, midfielders Youri Tielemans and Boubacar Kamara are unavailable.
West Ham Form
West Ham United remain in the bottom three for now, but are looking to the future with optimism. Tottenham Hotspur are just one point away, while the team trail Nottingham Forest only on goal difference. West Ham United are in decent form at the moment, having lost only to Liverpool in their last six Premier League matches, with two wins and three draws. In fact, in the last two rounds the club first beat Fulham away (1:0) and then drew at home with Manchester City (1:1). Incidentally, in their previous six Premier League fixtures the Londoners have conceded more than once only on one occasion. Even so, the defence is still the second-worst in the division for reliability, with 55 goals conceded.
- Both teams have scored in seven of the club's previous 10 league matches.
- In their last 13 away Premier League games, West Ham United have picked up only three wins (four draws and six defeats).
- At least three goals have been scored in five of the Londoners' last seven away matches in the Premier League.
Potential West Ham United Lineup (3-4-2-1)*
Mads Hermansen – Konstantinos Mavropanos, Jean-Clair Todibo, Axel Disasi – El Hadji Malick Diouf, Tomas Soucek, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Mateus Fernandes – Pablo, Jarrod Bowen – Valentin Castellanos.
Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski and forward Crysencio Summerville are out injured.
